Lavender Lace™
Patent #: PP 27,335
Botanical Name: Lagerstroemia indica
Hardiness: Zone 6-10
Size: 12' H x 8' W
Spacing: 8'
Growth Habit: Upright, columnar tree habit
Light: Full Sun
Water: Keep soil moist until established
Prune: Please do not commit crape murder! Selectively prune each branch back just enough to encourage additional branching and shape. Not wanting to grow a tree? You can trim your crape down to 4" every winter to help maintain a shorter height each spring.
Plant Food: Apply slow release once per year in early spring
Mulch: Keep a layer of mulch around the base of the plant year-round to conserve water and reduce weeds
Ideas for Use: Flawless black foliage and masses of brilliant jewel-toned blooms from summer til the first frost. Plant along your driveway for a nice, colorful lined entrance, drought tolerant, low maintenance, and highly resistant to mildew.
*Note- Black Diamond® Crapes need to be planted in full sun in order for the foliage to stay black. If they do not get full sunlight and are planted in partial shade, their foliage will be more green than black.*
